Online Photo Club

Rules and guidelines for submitting and sharing your photos.

Club Participation Rules

To ensure the Online Photo Club operates smoothly and fairly, all members are expected to follow a few key guidelines. Submissions must consist of your own original photography, and images taken or downloaded from other sources are not permitted. Accepted file formats include JPG, PNG, GIF, and WEBP to ensure compatibility across devices. Each image should be under 1MB in size to maintain fast loading times and accessibility for all visitors, including those with slower internet connections. Members should also avoid large watermarks or excessive text overlays that may distract from the visual quality and subject of the photograph.

All content shared on this site must be suitable for a college-level academic environment. Members should refrain from submitting any material that is violent, hateful, offensive, or adult in nature. Each photo must align with one of the three main categories listed on the Home page. Personal information, such as phone numbers or addresses, should not appear in image captions or file names. The club reserves the right to remove any content that does not meet these standards. By submitting a photo, you grant permission for it to be displayed on the site for gallery viewing and practice voting activities.

File Formats and Submission Details

When submitting a photo through the Contact page, please include your full name, email address, photo title, and the category in which you would like it displayed. Images should be saved in one of the following formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, or WEBP. A resolution of approximately 500 by 465 pixels provides clear on-screen quality while keeping file sizes manageable. Use a simple and descriptive file name, such as wildlife_fox.jpg or sports_goalkeeper.png. Avoid using spaces or special characters such as &, %, or ?, as these may cause issues when files are uploaded to the website.

Each participant may submit up to three photos per round, with a maximum of one photo allowed in each category. This guideline helps keep the gallery and voting pages organized and accessible for all viewers. If an incorrect file or category is submitted by mistake, participants may contact the coordinator via email to request a correction. Submissions that do not meet the technical or content requirements may be delayed or removed. The goal of these guidelines is to ensure a fair, respectful, and well-structured environment where all members can share their work.
